
With the Christmas number one battle still going it looks as though Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes is in a close battle to take the crown this weekend against James Cameron's Avatar. Both movies have been doing the business at the box office this weekend and while we don't have the complete figures yet, it appears that Avatar might just pip Sherlock Holmes to the post

It's that time of year again, yes Christmas! And that means that i get a few days off so ill see you all in a few days and in the meantime if you celebrate Christmas then i hope you have a great one and Santa brings you that 100" HDTV that you want so you can watch your movies in full screen home cinema goodness form!

Ridley Scott's 2010 adaptation of the Robin Hood legend starring Russell Crowe in the title role has it's first trailer. This is the first time we have actually covered this new version of Robin Hood and the reason is, that I've seen so many version, serious and parodies of this world that I'm not sure if I can watch another. Ridley Scott will no doubt bring an intensity and seriousness to the movie that we wont have seen since the Kevin Costner version hit the big screen but will it really be anything different?

The first full Iron Man 2 trailer has finally surfaced and is sure to get all the fans of the first movie whipped up into a frenzy as the Tony Stark story continues where it left off after the last movie. Stark is now out as such in the public and everyone knows he has an alter ego, but now they know who the technology comes from everyone wants a piece of the action

Natalie Portman has signed on for the movie adaptation of Pride, Prejudice and Zombies, yes you read that right, its just like the original Pride and Prejudice, but with a little more undead flesh eating action thrown in for good measure

With Avatar already getting rave reviews all round, across the board, James Cameron has already confirmed that if Avatar does the business at the box office, which i'm sure it will especially in the quiet Christmas period they have released it in, then a sequel and possibly trilogy is definitely on the cards

Duncan Jones low budget sci fi piece of goodness Moon, starring Sam Rockwell has been doing the business at the British Independent Film Awards or the BIFA, nice acryomn right! Moon took home two awards this year effectively, Duncan Jones took the Douglas Hickox Award which is given to a British Director on their debut feature movie, and Moon also grabbed the big one The Best British Independant Film Award

Fox has released a interesting ten minute behind the scenes featurette on the upcoming Avatar, James Cameron's fantasy science fiction story. If you haven't heard of Avatar yet the story is set on a planet called Pandora, where a small settlement of humans are living among the natural inhabitants the Na'vi

News has broke on the third movie in the Riddick franchise from writer director David Twohy and starring Vin Diesel as the anti hero Riddick. Diesel himself posted the news on his Facebook page stating that location scouting for the third movie in the series has begun which is good news for sci fi fans
