The Losers – Movie Review
The Losers follows the story of five Special Forces operatives who during a mission in Bolivia find themselves unable to carry out their mission because the lives of innocent children will be taken if they do. When they stray from their instructions given by Max, who they only know via radio contact, they find their escape helicopter shot down by Max who then believes he has killed them due to their unwillingness to follow his direct orders. However the Losers weren’t actually on the helicopter and now they have to find a way to get revenge on Max with the help of a mystery woman called Aisha.
the Losers is an adaptation of a comic book and this movie is directed by Sylvain White who previously worked on The Trunk and Stomp the Yard. The cast features Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Zoe Saldana, Idris Elba and Chris Evans and they all do a pretty good job in their respective roles, Morgan does a good job as the Losers leader and Saldana coming off the success of Avatar is believable as a dangerous operative that teams up with the Losers to also find revenge on Max. Chris Evans brings the laughs in an otherwise fairly straight movie, and has the most memorable scenes of the movie.
The Losers really is an all out action adventure/revenge movie and doesn’t really tread any new ground, but it does keep ticking along at an impressive rate and the action scenes are broken up by some banter and comedy from the crew. The movie doesn’t take itself to seriously and has already been compared to the A-Team, and for everyone who is excited about that movie, or liked the original TV series i can definitely recommend the Losers. Overall the Loser is a solid, not to serious, action revenge flick with a mostly light hearted attitude, one to watch and forget but not one you will want to forget you watched.
