Ridley Scott to direct sci fi classic The Forever War
The director of sci fi classics Alien and Blade Runner is all lined up to go back to the genre which made his name. Yep, Ridley Scott is set to direct an adaptation of the 1974 novel, The Forever War written by Joe Haldeman. The story itself reads like sci fi gold dust, focusing on the story of a William Mandella a student who gets enrolled in a UN peace force for gifted individuals, intended to amass against an alien force that is threatening the existence of the human race. With various complex themes both human and technology running through the Forever War, there is definitely enough here to create a deep and probably quite involving movie.
