Moon does the business at independant film awards BIFA

Duncan Jones low budget sci fi piece of goodness Moon, starring Sam Rockwell has been doing the business at the British Independent Film Awards or the BIFA, nice acryomn right! Moon took home two awards this year effectively, Duncan Jones took the Douglas Hickox Award which is given to a British Director on their debut feature movie, and Moon also grabbed the big one The Best British Independant Film Award.

The real question is whether Moon will get any bigger awards next year, it definately deserves some, Rockwell’s performance was great as the lone worker on the Moon base, but sci fi movies generally don’t do good business in the big award shows unless it’s something like best special effects or best soundtrack, but it’s still great to see Moon and the director get some recognition.
