Everyone favorite Archeologist is back, Dr Indiana Jones is out on the quest again, only 20 years after the last of the original trilogy. Fans of the 3 existing movies can put their fears aside large attempts have been made to keep the look and style of Indy 4 or Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in keeping with the rest of the series.

All the big names are back on board for the long awaited fourth outing. With Spielberg and Lucas behind the scenes as director and writer. Harrison Ford is back of course, with Karen Allen reprising her role as Marion from the Lost Ark. Newcomers to the series come in the shape of Shia Lebouf as Mutt Williams, Cate Blanchett who plays the villain Doctor Irina Spalko, John Hurt and Ray Winstone head up the rest of the main cast.

I did have expectations for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and it pretty much met them. I’m a big fan of the original movies and Crystal Skull fits into them pretty much perfectly. It’s not as good as the Last crusade or the Lost Ark. I don’t think Crystal Skull is anywhere near as ambitious as the previous 3 movies, and in comparison to them isn’t quite what it could be. But as far as my expectations, they were pretty much satisfied.

Summing up, we have some new characters, some old characters a few years on both the director and lead actor. But all in all, it’s a new Indy film that doesn’t quite have the magic of the old ones, if you expect that you shouldn’t be disappointed.
