inception_2.jpg

Inception the latest sci fi thriller from Batman Begins and Memento director Christopher Nolan is racking up a score of very impressive reviews in the build up to its July the 16th release this year. Many critics have been praising the movie that stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Ken Watanbe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy and Michael Caine. Along with the talented director Nolan who certainly has a dark edge to all his movies, we also have old hand Hanz Zimmer scoring the movie and with a budget of $200 it’s no surprise that Inception really looks the business.

Nolan has already stated that the movie was influenced by a bunch of sci fi classics including the amazing Dark City, the ambitious and intriguing The Thirteenth Floor and the Matrix. With a running time of nearly 2 hours I’m glad to see that Inception wasn’t cut down to satisfy the typical hour and a half routine that many movies fall into, if you have seen the Swedish version of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo you will know how much a movie can benefit from a longer running time in the right circumstances.

With the currently 100% fresh rating on rotten tomatoes Inception looks as though its going to be the thinking mans summer blockbuster you can take a look at all the reviews right here over at RT.
