District 9 and Rock Slyde – Posted

This week in Posted we have two new movie posters for you to check out.  From comedies poking fun at the film noir genre to a new twist on alien invasion movies.

First up is Next up is the science fiction movie District 9 which is produced by Peter Jackson and directed by Neill Blomkamp who based the movie on an earlier short film of his.  It takes the idea of aliens on earth and puts a slightly different spin on it, with the aliens being treated as second class citizens and almost treated as slaves rather than the typical aliens that land and then try to blow stuff up with their advanced technology.  The posters for this movie are very cool and Ive included a couple here, its almost propaganda style marketing which lines up with the storyline in the movie.  If you want to check out more on District 19 you can head over to the official website here or the viral marketing blog here.

Next up is Rock Slyde a film noir comedy spoof, with Patrick Warburton starring in the title role of this low budget flick.  The storyline follow Rock Slyde trying going up against a cult in a war over land and power.  The few reviews so far have not been too kind to Rock Slyde but films that poke fun at film genres are usually entertaining in some way, in the meantime take a look at the full poster, i like the design and obviously the title of the movie gives away that its not taking itself to seriously even if the poster tries to dictate otherwise.  I still love the tag line on this movie ‘One man. One case. No clue’.
