The Prince of Persia – The Sands of Time movie
The long running video game series the Prince of Persia, is gearing up for filming with Jerry Bruckheimer at the helm. The movie is actually going to be based on one of the more recent games, and one of the more successful ones, Prince of Persia – The Sands of Time. With the movie being delayed due to the writers strike, things are now starting to shift back into gear in the latest of an ever increasing video game to movie adaptation market.
It’s Disney who own the rights to this movie, and with Bruckheimer on board too, the obvious comparison is going to be with the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. There are no firm cast details so far but with a license as big as the Prince of Persia, which has literally crossed decades in the video game field they won’t be quite as important. I expect a lot of the budget will be ploughed into the look of the movie, from the sets to the special effects.
