News and rumors are surfacing about a film version of the very awesome, Mighty Boosh. For those who haven’t witnessed the world of Vince Noir and Howard Moon, the Boosh is a TV show that is surreal, wacky and very funny. It revolves around the world of these two friends as they end up on some rather strange adventures that often involve random songs and some pretty funny recurring jokes.

According to Digital Spy who reported on the story, Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt have signed a deal with BBC Films to bring the Mighty Boosh to the big screen. The pair are reportedly writing the script now. Variety got this quote, from BBC Films editor, Christine Langan – “Noel and Julian are phenomenally talented, there’s an existing, very loyal fan base, and the project has huge potential.”

So it all sounds official, and while the series was low budget, it always looked stylish, so with a bigger, albeit, probably not giant budget, the Mighty Boosh will be coming to a cinema near you. If you haven’t checked out the Boosh yet, and you’re a fan of quirky comedy then you should definitely take a look at the DVD’s.
