With the holiday season now in full swing I figured it was a good time to look at the highest grossing Christmas movies of all time!  While its not exactly in the spirit of Christmas to value the movies on their monetary gain it sure is fun.  So do you have any ideas on which Xmas movie took the number one spot?  If not keep reading to find out which festive movie topped the box office and the rest of the top 10 movies too.

Coming in at number 10 is Grumpier Old Men which starred Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau and took in an impressive $71,49,832 when it was released in 1995

At number 9 in the top grossing Xmas movies comes Christmas with the Kranks, starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Dan Aykroyd and Tim Allen.  This is just the first of Tim Allen’s appearance in the top 10 and the Kranks managed to bring in $73,780,539 when it was released in 2004.

At number 8 we have Tim Allen back in the chart with The Santa Clause 3 which managed to bring in $79,882,347 in 2006.

In at number 7 we have cheaper by the dozen which saw Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt bring in a whopping $138,614,544 at the box office, showing a huge leap between this and number 8.

At number 6 Tim Allen returns with The Santa Clause 2 which did much better than the third movie raking in $139,224,854 at the box office.

In at number 5 is Mr Allen again with the original Santa Clause which took over $144,833,357 at the theatres.

At number 4 is my favourite Christmas movie of recent years Elf!  Elf saw Will Ferrell on fine form with support from Zoey Deschanel and James Caan in this treat of an Xmas movie which deservedly brought in $173,381,405 at the box office.

Child Star Macauley Culkin lands the number 3 spot with Home Alone 2 which wasn’t as good as the original but brought in $173,585,516 at the box office showing sequels can do well.

At number 2 Jim Carrey brings his particular brand of acting to Christmas with How the Grinch Stole Christmas which took a massive $260,031,035.

And at number 1 in the highest grossing Christmas movies of all time we have…. Macauley Culkin again with the original Home Alone!  Home Alone took over $285,761,243 and proved a hit worldwide and deservedly so, it was the perfect Christmas movie for kids with slapstick comedy and fun abound.

Have a good christmas movie fans!  I hope Santa brought you everything you wanted, and even if he didnt you all know where Amazon is!

I have been cheering for J.R.the whole time!! That samba was fun to watch and their energy was just fantastic. I think he and Karina are a great team and work so well together. I know they work very hard, but don’t they make it look easy? I really hope they get to take the mirror ball trophy home! diablo 3 gold

During this same time period, Citi Group, which received $300 billion in tax dollars from the United States Treasury, spent more than approximat-ely $13 million to influence lawmakers. Goldman Sachs spent $9 million on buying lawmakers in 2008.Gw2 Power Leveling
