Doomsday is getting closer – New trailer
The official Doomsday site now has a brand new trailer for Neil Marshall’s upcoming post apocalyptic thriller. Doomsday is due for an early 2008 release all around the world and with Marshall’s steadily increasing experience and budget’s this could be a good all out action thrill ride.
With an interesting, and mostly British cast, Doomsday is upping the scale from Marshall’s previous movies, yet it looks as though it’s going to carry the trademark violence and gore that were evident in both, The Descent and Dog Soldiers.
Doomsday was previously going to be distributed by indie company Rogue pictures, but it’s been upped in scale and is now set for a full universal release with all the expected marketing buzz that comes with that.
Here’s the official blurb from the Doomsday site (link here,) with the official trailer below.
“In the action-packed new thriller Doomsday, from writer/director Neil Marshall (The Descent, Dog Soldiers), authorities brutally quarantine a country as it succumbs to fear and chaos when a virus strikes. The Literal walling-off works for three decades-until the dreaded reaper virus violently resurfaces in a major city.
An elite group of specialists, captained by Eden Sinclair (Rhona Mitra), is urgently dispatched into the still quarantined country to retrieve a cure by any means necessary. Shut off from the rest of the world, the unit must battle through a landscape that has become a waking nightmare. Bob Hoskins, Adrian Lester, Alexander Siddig and Malcolm McDowell co-star in the film.â€
