A-Team Casting News Almost Complete

The A-Team are all set to return back to our screens albeit on a bigger stage, yes the long rumored A-Team movie is finally shaping up.  This has been a movie rumour for years with all kinds of directors and actors supposedly attached to the project, yet it finally seems as though some hard facts are coming out about this big screen re-invention of one of the classic 1980’s TV shows.

If you never saw the original TV show then your missing out, it followed a team of ex Army Special Forces soldiers who work as soldiers of fortune on the run from the military for a crime they didn’t commit.  Even though they were essentially mercenaries, guns for hire the A-Team always erred on the side of good and usually ended up helping the needy and discriminated so they are bad good guys who have amazing skills like being able to build tanks and armoured vehicles out of some old metal pipes and some corrugated iron, classic stuff.

Well the cast for the new movie has long been rumoured but it seems like we now have some solid facts.  A-Team is due to be released in summer of 2010, June the 11th is the current date, 20th Century Fox are producing with Joe Carnahan directing, you might remember him as the director of Smokin Aces, with Ridley and Tony Scott producing the movie.  The cast is nearly all confirmed too so let’s take a look at what we have so far.

Hannibal Smith – The leader of the A-Team and generally smug cigar smoking head honcho, Variety revealed that Liam Neeson is signed on to play Hannibal Smith.

Templeton Peck
– Also know as face due to his looks and smooth talking ways with the ladies, Bradley Cooper is all signed on play face, and he recently reported it to MTV.

‘Howling Mad’ Murdock
– Murdock is the A-Team’s pilot and in the show is officially declared insane, this is the one character yet to have a solid casting but rumour are that Woody Harrelson was wanted to take on this part.

B.A. Baracus – Also known as Mr T, Baracus is the muscle of the team and is all set to be played by UFC fighter and general MMA star Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson.  Jackson is one of the more lively MMA Characters and is going to be perfect for this role.  If you do want to read more on the latest MMA News be sure to check out MMA Linkage here.

So far so good, we will be keeping our eyes peeled for any news on the casting of Murdock but here’s hoping Fox pull out all the stops and don’t forget what made the show so good.
