Iron Man 2 – New Characters and Pictures
Iron Man 2 is looking good as you can see from the latest promotional Iron Man 2 pictures here. With the first Iron Man movie making such a good impression all round, there is no reason that Iron Man 2 shouldn’t do the same and they have added quite a few names to the cast for this second movie, and made sure not to change the crew to much from the origional.
First up is Scarlett Johansson joining the cast of Iron Man 2 as Tony Starks new assistant Natasha Romanoff who also has a double life as the Black Widow an undercover spy who poses as Starks assistant.
Other newcomers to the cast are Mickey Rourke also join the cast as the villain of the movie Ivan Vanko or his superhero name Whiplash who creates a power suit of his own similar to Tony Starks’s . Sam Rockwell gets onboard as Justin Hammer, who is going to be a much younger character in the movie than he was in the comics, and is a weapons manufacturer just like Stark, with makes them competitors.
A few characters from the first movie are back with Don Cheadle also join the cast replacing Terrence Howard as Lt. Colonel James Rhodes, Gyneth Paltrow is obviously reprising her role of Virginia ‘Pepper’ Pots
Samuel L Jackson after his last minute show in the first Iron Man movie as Nick Fury is all set to return in Iron Man 2 where I presume his part will be a bit bigger, lets be honest it couldn’t get any smaller. Also interesting to note is that reportedly Jackson has been signed on to play Nick Fury in nine Marvel movies.
Of course John Favreau is back in the director’s chair for Iron Man 2 and has even stated he sees the franchise as a trilogy, I’m sure we will be seeing more than 3 movies though if Iron Man 2 is as good as the original and does the same business at the box office.
Iron Man 2 is not set to hit our screens till May 2010 so we still have a while to go, but the marketing is already generating a lot of buzz and news stories. Iron Man 2 is definitely going to be one to look forward too.
