Doomsday will be upon us soon
Neill Marshall’s Upcoming movie Doomsday is looking pretty stylish and dark. The movie is set after a virus nicknamed the Reaper has infected Scotland and the country is walled off to stop the spread of the infection. 30 years later and the virus is back but it’s in another country this time, this forces an elite team to be sent to Scotland where the virus first broke out, to search for a cure.
The cast revealed so far appears predominantly British with Rhona Mitra as Eden Sinclair the elite team leader, Bob Hoskins who overseas the mission, and Malcolm McDowell as Kane the man in Scotland who is supposed to have discovered a cure for the deadly Reaper virus.
If you’ve been following Neill Marshall’s work so far you might has seen the movies he has directed so far, Dog Soldiers, and the better known and bigger budgeted The Descent. Both previous movies have some common themes, they involve ordinary people in extraordinary situations. Pressurized situations affecting already established relationships between the characters, and a fondness for creature designs and some pretty graphic violence and gore.
The teaser site up at the moment doesn’t have a trailer yet, but it does have a selection of images showing some of the behind the scenes work. This shows some of the concept ideas and production shots, well worth a look if you like what you’ve heard so far.
