Do you remember Total Recall – Remake on the horizon

total_recall_1.jpg

Back in 1990, if you recall (see what I did there) a science fiction movie based on short story by Philip K Dick appeared on the big screen. The movie was called Total Recall and starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone, in what would become a classic movie directed by Paul Verhoeven.

Personally I loved Total Recall, even though the first time I watched it I had no idea what was going on. Later viewers reaped rewards though and it’s up there with some of my all time most watched movies. Well Joblo broke the story here, and I’m half excited half nervous that a remake is in the works of Total Recall. The story goes that while the remake is going to share the name, the story will be more of a re envisioning of the original Philip K Dick short story upon which it was based. This is probably a good idea because Verhoeven and the crew involved in the original did a damn solid job, and it would be hard to capture the tone that Verhoevan handles so well in most of his movies, and the tone which made Total Recall so watchable.

It’s going to be interesting to see who Columbia Pictures get on board to handle a potentially lucrative franchise, more news as we get it
