Beverly Hills Cop 4 news
Brett Ratner has just signed on to direct the fourth Beverly Hills Cop movie with Eddie Murphy back in the role of wise cracking cop, Axel Foley. It’s been around 14 years since the last movie in the installment, and in that time Ratner himself has become best known for his Rush Hour series which in lots of ways isn’t too dissimilar to the Beverly Hills Cop series. Both have wisecracking leads and Chris Tucker and Eddie Murphy both have that comedy background.
You’re going to have to wait a while to see this one though, as Beverly Hills Cop 4 won’t be out till 2010. It will be interesting to see if Murphy can still cut it as Alex Foley and whether the theme tune, which has become something popular and almost cultish in itself, will be massacred, or remixed into an up to date theme tune for new generations. Oh and that reminds me, does putting a banana in a car exhaust actually work?
